Freepik’s mascot immortalized in silver jewelry

February 7, 2013 — 2 Comments

The friends from www.joyeriahago.com had the wonderful idea of turning Pikky, the cute little blue robot, Freepik’s mascot, into a shining jewel. They have known Pikky since it was just a little sketch on a piece paper and now they helped him to “materialize”.

Here are the steps of the technological process that made it all possible. Enjoy the making of:

Step one: The 2D drawing is made into a 3D project2011 12 27 09.15.51

Step two: Milling the material into the right shape2011 12 27 08.30.57

Step three: The mascot gets materialized by lost-wax casting; silver is poured in the cast giving Pikky the shine that we can see in the last step.2012 01 03 13.06.46

Step four: The final result – through artisanal procedures the silver and blue enamel keychain mascot is now finished.1330021049752

Many thanks to www.joyeriahago.com for giving Pikky the shine he always wanted, he is now a gem of a mascot!
