Vector Inspiration: Russ Cook

Russ Cook is an amazing fine artist and caricaturist from Oxford, United Kingdom. His wonderful portraits of celebrities got our attention. He prefers traditional painting, digital painting as well as vector techniques. We have the pleasure to present his vector pop culture-inspired caricatures. Russ Cook is out new vector inspiration proposal to you.

Russ creates his vector caricatures in Adobe Illustrator. After the vector part is done, the artist often takes the design over into Photoshop so that he can apply further effects such as ‘blurring’, ‘outer glows’ and ‘drop shadows’. “I probably only use Photoshop on two or three different planes such as fore, mid and background - and only now and then apply different effects to elements within the same plane. The reason is because I don’t want to over-egg the basic look of the vector work, which, when done well, has a unique and very effective style. Working in layers within Illustrator is essential for ease of editing as well as isolating elements when transferring to Photoshop, etc”, explains the artist himself.

Vector Inspiration: Adam Tri Nur Yanto

Adam Tri Nur Yanto is a vector artist from Surabaya (East Java) Indonesia and he currently works as a flash designer for mobile games. Beside his job, Adam likes to draw elaborate vector graphics for his personal projects. He learned and developed his techniques by watching video tutorials and by studying the works of other vector artists. For creating his amazing vector compositions, Adam uses Adobe Illustrator and sometimes Adobe Photoshop. He draws with a Wacom Standard Bamboo Pen & Touch and his works develop from a general concept to which he keeps adding details. In fact, the high level of details is the key to his powerful visuals. Beside his attention to details, Adam’s vectors are beautiful because of the way he uses colors, lighting, ambience and depth of field.
